In future, the SIWF will focus on competency-based education curricula. The link https://www.siwf.ch/siwf-projekte/cbme.cfm provides important information on the topic of "competence-based medical education".

The Swiss College of Surgeons, with its seven primary organizations, has designed a so-called "Core Surgical Curriculum" (CSC) with e-learning modules and courses that cover the core competencies for a surgical activity. In addition, certain clinical activities in basic surgical training are now defined as "Entrustable Professional Activities" (EPAs), allowing trainees to evaluate and discuss these clinical undertakings with the trainers. The SCS has contracted with precisionED, which allows the use of an app for both EPAs from the CSC and those from surgical specialties. The tool will allow the documentation of EPOs and visualize growth in competency over time.

See the infographic for detailed information on how to use the app.

We offer free online Q&A sessions several times a year. At these webinars, questions about EPAs and preparedEPAs can be clarified and tips and tricks for implementation in everyday life can be exchanged. Current Q&A sessions are listed in the event calendar.
