In future, the SIWF will focus on competency-based education curricula. The link provides important information on the topic of "competence-based medical education".

The Swiss College of Surgeons, with its seven primary organizations, has designed a so-called "Core Surgical Curriculum" (CSC) with e-learning modules and courses that cover the core competencies for a surgical activity. In addition, certain clinical activities in basic surgical training are now defined as "Entrustable Professional Activities" (EPAs), allowing trainees to evaluate and discuss these clinical undertakings with the trainers. The SCS has contracted with precisionED, which allows the use of an app for both EPAs from the CSC and those from surgical specialties. The tool will allow the documentation of EPOs and visualize growth in competency over time.

See the infographic for detailed information on how to use the app. You can use the QR code SCS-EPAs to conveniently register your training facility and also book free online courses on how to use EPAs.
